The Second Amendment is intact

The Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the Second Amendment of the Constitution is still intact. Our Founding Fathers saw a need for the citizens of this country to have the right to own firearms. The liberals today are all upset about the ruling, saying that in today's America there is no need for guns. In other countries when self defense was taken from the citizens the citizens soon lost their freedom. Many say that such a thing would never happen here. I'm sure the people of Communist China, Russia, Nazi Germany and others said the same thing when they lost their firearms to the government.

The Chicago liberals are upset because they now claim the streets will be flooded with guns and more shootings. In all the handgun shootings in Chicago all of them were committed by guns that were illegal and I would guess that all the people doing the shooting did not have a state issued gun owner ID card. So all the guns & shooters were illegal in both Chicago and Illinois, which means bad guys don't care about the law and will always find a way to get guns. At least now the good guys can have guns too.

A message from Steve Greenberg

The price of gas is now over $4.10 a gallon, yet once again an entire week has passed without a single measure proposed by Democrat Melissa Bean to provide relief at the gas pump for her constituents.

She voted twice against debating a bill aimed at expanding US refining capacities and refused to sign a discharge petition to force a vote on the measure. This bill would relieve the bottleneck in gasoline supply, serving to lower the cost of gas and move our nation closer to energy independence. Despite the fact that this proposal has the support of a majority of the people in the 8th District, my opponent refuses to support it.

It is evident that this district needs new leadership in Washington. As you fill up your gas tank and cringe, remember that with real leadership in Washington we can bring about real solutions to the gas crisis. Stand with me in this election and help me fight for you.

Republican Party is Alive

Recently back from the Republican Convention in Decatur IL. and the news I bring back is the Republican Party is alive and well. For the first time all 102 counties were represented with a record breaking number of delegates. It was so crowded that I was forced to defend a seat for a woman delegate several times. Fremont Township was well represented at the Convention.

Steve Greenberg gave a good account of himself, showing he will make a fine Congressman if elected.

For National Committeeman Pat Brady was elected. For National Committeewoman Demetra DeMonte was elected. One of Demetra DeMonte’s first acts was to appoint Kathy Salvi her Deputy.

The theme of the convention was of change. Not the unknown and vague change that the Democratic candidate for President only talks of, but of real change. The change we talk of is to stop the ongoing corruption of government we have in Illinois. It was recognized that the Republican Party did not do enough in the past to stop corruption. We will put out the message that to change Illinois government for the better we need to bring back the two party system. We need Republicans elected to office to give government the balance it needs to be honest and fair. If we don’t all Illinois will look like Cook County with all its Pay to Play Politics. Several Party Officials and Candidates pledged that they would not tolerate corruption and would resign if they were found to be connected to any. I don’t think the Democratic leaders can make the same pledge at their convention.
