Vote Congress Out

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds 73% of voters agree with Vice President Biden that "Washington right now is broken." Of those surveyed just 15% disagree with the vice president's analysis of the political situation in the nation's capital. Of that survey 12% more are not sure.

However, 75% of all voters now say they are angry at the government's current policies, 60% think neither Republican leaders nor Democratic leaders have a good understanding of what is needed today.

Another 63% believe, generally speaking, that it would be better for the country if most Congressional incumbents were defeated this November. Their confidence in their own congressman also continues to fall. That would include the incumbent Congresswoman Melissa Bean from the 8th District.

Most voters continue to be against the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats, which Congresswoman Bean voted for.

The Declaration of Independence, states that governments derive "their just powers from the consent of the governed." Today, however, just 21% of voters nationwide believe that the federal government has the consent of the governed.

Obama = More Taxes

President Obama has hinted that he may have to go back on his campaign promise against raising taxes on Americans making less than $250,000 a year. So how is that hope and change thing working out America?

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that even if the President and Congress raise taxes to reduce the federal deficit, 58% of voters think they are more likely to spend the money on new government programs. Which means our grandchildren will be even deeper in debt.

Just 23% believe they are more likely to use the new tax money for deficit reduction, and another 19% aren't sure.

Another Rasmussen poll shows that the vast majority of voters nationwide (83%) of Americans say the size of the federal budget deficit is due more to the unwillingness of politicians in Washington to cut government spending. Congress is out of control when it comes to spending and it needs to stop NOW.

Our current member of Congress Melissa Bean has been on the side of new spending to solve the nation’s economic problems. It is time to go back to spending only what we can afford and not leave future generations with the bill. It is time to elect someone that will represent the people of the 8th District.

Have you met Joe yet?

Have you met Joe?

If you have attended any public meetings in the area you might have seen a familiar face at some of them. That face could be Joe Walsh, it seems he is going around to the neighborhoods of the 8th District and asking residents what they think. He is involved in what concerns the community. Joe is also asking for your vote this November to represent us in Congress. Can you imagine someone that comes into the District on a regular basis talking to the people and even more shocking he plans on living in the 8th District. This is something we have not had in the past six years. So have you met Joe yet?

Bean Campaign Money

The majority of Congresswoman Bean's campaign comes from Political Action Committees not from the people of the 8th District. She has not really started her quest for campaign money, how much more will the PACs spend to keep their candidate in office. The 8th District needs a candidate from the community. This November we have the opportunity to vote in someone that will represent the people, Joe Walsh.

Melissa Bean (D)

Joe Walsh Promise

From Joe Walsh for Congress:

I will lead by example and act as a Citizen Legislator - the type of person our Founding Fathers envisioned. My pledge to you is as follows:

  1. I will not serve more than 3 terms in the House (6 years), if so privileged.
  2. I will not receive any health plans or retirement benefits that only congressmen get and that aren’t available to all Americans.
  3. I will not vote for any legislation which increases the size of government or isn’t supported by the Constitution.
  4. I will never add an earmark to any bill.
  5. I will always speak my mind and tell my constituents the truth.
  6. I will always be accessible to my constituents and hold town halls on a regular basis, in good times or bad

We need to get Americans to feel good about their government again.
