Healthcare "Reform" Bill

If anyone takes a step back and looks at the so-called Healthcare Reform Bill(s), they would see several things: 1 - there is no malpractice insurance reform mentioned; this would do more to limit and reduce cost than perhaps anything; 2 - the government has "run" Medicare and Medicaid into bankruptcy. The bill in the Senate that just passed CUTS Medicare spending by $400-$500 BILLION dollars. They claim it is as a result of reducing waste and fraud. Question - then why not do it anyway???? I mean, if we are truly looking to ACTUALLY reduce the costs of healthcare rather than TALK about reducing costs.

Not to mention that by mandating people to be insured or be fined, this is a tax. Call it a penalty, call it a fine, call it a fee. Anything that is mandated to us that penalizes us for something is called a TAX.

Taxes were not supposed to be levied on the middle-class, yet that is what is exactly happening. In this environment, why would you raise taxes on ANYONE??? Just so Congress can spend more money we don't have? The House Leadership does not seem to want to or care to abide by any campaign promises they made or President Obama made. Whatever they said 1 minute ago is what they think needed to be said, but it's not what they mean. Obviously. They turn around and do the opposite, time and time again. Why does anyone believe them?

I would also like to remind people that the current fiscal year DEFICIT is $1.4 Trillion Dollars. Trillion, with a T. Current year only. Are you kidding me? So who is the Congress and the President think they are kidding when they say the Senate Bill that just passed is deficit neutral?

The CBO cannot give details on anything other than what was given to them. They were not given the bill to use as a basis for projection, only information given to them. Once Harry Reid "combines" the bills, who actually, intellectually, and honestly believes any bill will be deficit neutral? How are you going to PAY FOR IT??????

We are so far in debt as a country already. The U.S. Dollar is PLUMMETING. The world's economic powers that be are actually discussing a replacement for the dollar when it comes to trading in a currency. If the world has no faith in the U.S. dollar and economy, what will it take to wake up the Congress that we need to tighten our belts, cut spending, and save our economy? How will spending money we DON'T have on "reforming" (I prefer to call it destroying) a healthcare system that does not need a complete overhaul?

Start with actual measures that will ACTUALLY cut costs and provide coverage for those in need. Does the Congress think we are not paying attention and we don't see them paying off the trial lawyers and big pharmaceuticals? Who do they think they're kidding?

Just talk to your doctors, pediatricians, other caregivers. The vast majority of the healthcare industry thinks what is happening is misleading and very bad for the country. Rationing, fewer doctors, specialists, longer waits are ahead. When the cuts to Medicare come, which they will, which doctors will continue to see Medicare patients when they are ALREADY taking a cut in reimbursement from Medicare? Has anyone done the math on the existing senior population and the baby-boomers coming into Medicare? How many millions of people will see less coverage as a result?

I believe intentions are good on both sides of the aisle to help people. I think the honesty and integrity of those in power has been compromised, especially when it comes to healthcare. Be honest, be fair to EVERYONE, and get down to business.

Agree on some basic reform issues, and don't overhaul the entire system. You cannot go back once it has been changed so radically. Start with smaller, impactful changes and take it slowly. And for goodness sake, let the citizens of the United States that elected you to Congress READ THE BILLS. If this is SO imperative, SO necessary, then do what is in the best interest of the people. Why do it in such a rush with so little discussion and debate? Why do it when no one is looking? Why WAIT to implement changes until 2013 if it so imperative and immediately necessary? Taxes are going to be raised immediately to pay for a program that won't go into effect for another 3 years.
