More taxes

HB 4239 Rep. Frank Mautino (Dem.) Video gaming, would legalize and tax video machines.

SB 44 Sen. Jeffrey Schoenberg (Dem.) raise tax on cigarettes by $1 per pack.

SB 2036 Sen. John Sullivan (Dem.) would raise the ILL. income tax rate.

HB 1 Rep. Eddie Washington (Dem.) would increase the tax on gas by 8 cents per gallon.

HB 48 Rep. Kathleen Ryg (Dem.) private sales of firearms to be made at federally licensed gun shops and pay fees for background checks.

What two things do these and other proposed bills have in common? They all require more fees or taxes and they are all sponsored by Democrats. There are many more of these increased fees and taxes the Dems are trying to pass for the Governor to sign. Instead of trying to cut spending or at least not increase spending they would rather just raise taxes. People and businesses are hurting with the state of the national economy and our Dem friends in Springfield can only think of increasing that pain. What is even sadder yet, of the bills listed above, two of them are sponsored by Lake County Dems (Washington & Ryg). If you see Washington or Ryg, please remind them that we are looking for tax relief not increases. If they don't want to listen, you can vote them out next year.
